Yancheng Economic Development Zone is dedicated to the development of multi-auto industry in 3 categories. They are automobiles, town buses and special vehicles. Automobiles: Automobiles are produced by Dongfeng Yueda Kia motors co.,Ltd. A holding enterprise of Hyundai KIA Korea. The current capacity is 150000 set/year and its second plant with a capacity of 300000 set/year will start production in October, 2007. The first plant has successfully standed in to market with such automobiles as Accent, Cerato, Optima and Carnival. The second plant will be put into the market more models. More than 100 parts makers including Doowon air conditioners, Mobis engines, Kyungshin electronics, Hanil plastics and Hysco steel Sheets. Town buses: town buses are produced by Zhongda Group. The annual production in 2010 will reach 10000 sets. Special vehicles: special vehicles are produced by the joint Venture company between Yueda Group and Fuji heavy industry from Japan. Yancheng Economic Development Zone is making every effort to build it into a Korean investment and hi-tech investment concentration area, Shanghai industrial base and an automobile city in East China's coastal area.
